“A lovely adult only site, close to Dartmoor. We stayed here last year and had such a nice time this was our first choice to stay again when campsites opened again after COVID restrictions. We were a little apprehensive but it was great.

“We received a lovely welcome, and although the facilities were restricted if you were able to use your own, if you did have to use them they were extremely clean and good common sense measures had been taken to minimise contact with others.

“The site is in a great position for touring around Dartmoor, although please bear in mind that some roads aren’t campervan/motorhome friendly – the Dartmoor tourist information site has a map online which shows which roads are OK. Thoroughly recommend and we will stay here again.”

“We booked here as our plans had to change due to COVID and our original destination remaining closed. We were greeted by friendly staff and were quickly allowed entry to our pitch, this was fully serviced and a decent size for our twin axle and full awning, not quite level but no issues.

“First impressions were good and it’s clear the new owners are making improvements. An excellent toilet/ shower block with ample piping hot water, limited to 3 people at the minute but again, no issues and perfectly understandable. A great waste point and recycling area, hand washing facilities and sanitiser station for your use.

“Another nice touch is the BBQ field for people to enjoy with seating area. This is a really well maintained peaceful park with friendly staff who are on hand to offer advice about local area. It is easily situated off A30 so no fear of those narrow Devon lanes whilst towing!

“Some cracking walks and equidistant between north and south Devon. Perhaps the only negative is no real facilities as such within walking distance, not an issue for us but may be for others. We have enjoyed it so much we have booked to return in September.”

“It’s an adult only park set in Dartmoor National Park. No onsite entertainment. Good for dog lovers. Clean facilities. Owners and wardens are friendly and accommodating. Beautiful settings. Tranquil. With Nature.”

“This adults only campsite is beautifully maintained. The landscaping is second to none with great condition grass, well laid gravel and lovely flower boxes and trees.
We enjoy the birdwatching here as there are lots of feeders on site, spotting nuthatches & many greenfinches.

“They had robust social distancing measures in place that worked. The facilities are modern and to a very high standard. The site warden was very helpful and friendly. There is a friendly pub in Whiddon Down and lovely walking a short drive away on Dartmoor. We can’t wait to return.”

“Stayed a night while around Exeter way. Really enjoyed it… the toilet/shower facilities are second to none, spotless and warm. Did a bit of stargazing as it’s lovely and dark and was very quiet. Good location for attractions around the area, Dartmoor and Castle Drogo, etc. Local pub 5 mins’ drive away. Friendly wardens. We appreciate the adults only site. Couldn’t ask for more..will be heading back in spring/summer for sure.”

“We stayed at Woodland Springs for two nights whilst visiting a friend nearby. If we could rate this park 11 out of 10 we would as it is absolutely perfect.

“The park owner Fiona and Warden Peter couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. This site is a little gem which we will be sure to visit again very soon. The facilities are second to none and above all it is in a stunningly beautiful and relaxing setting. Make sure you visit, we promise you won’t regret it.”

“This was our first visit to this site and won’t be our last. Adult only, dog friendly, nice clean amenities, great location, friendly helpful staff, nice pitches and that’s just for starters. We had a long weekend here and will definitely return for longer next time. Walking on Dartmoor and also around Drogo Castle grounds were lovely.

“Great pub just up the road called The Post, highly recommend the food and especially Sunday carvery. You won’t be disappointed if you book to stay at this site.”

“Excellent first time podding experience, small and well maintained adult only site with spotless facilities. Great location for exploring the moors, local towns and not too far from the coast. Appreciated the use of a communal freezer. We walked from the site to the local pub and paid a visit to Spinster’s Rock one morning. Bought some BBQ supplies from Oinkers Farm Shop a few miles from the campsite.”

“We think this is a gem of a site (found on UK Campsite sight unseen) and will definitely stay again when in the area. Where we were the pitches were only divided by raised beds but plenty big enough not to be on top of your closest neighbour.

“TV reception very poor but mainly due to the local geography, we managed to watch a bit of TV before falling into bed and how great not to have intrusive lighting about the park. Maybe a project for the future would be to install a master aerial with distribution system as some other parks have.

“Facilities in the main very good and clean, though watch out for the naughty sensor showers – you may think you have turned it off only to have it start again as you wrap your towel round you – this happened to me! Perfectly quiet and peaceful for proper grown ups.

“Website directions actually do get you there and the welcome, care and attention of the owners is second to none.”
